YORK MUSIC HUB
York Music Hub is committed to ensuring that every child and young person in York has access to high-quality musical opportunities throughout their education, regardless of background or circumstance. Working in partnership with schools, music charities and national organisations, the Hub helps young people discover, enjoy and develop their musical talents.
Music education has a transformative impact on young lives. As well as fostering creativity and self-expression, participation in music helps develop confidence, teamwork, concentration, communication and problem-solving skills. These benefits extend far beyond the classroom and can have a lasting positive effect on future education, employment and wellbeing.
Despite the proven value of music education, funding for music hubs has reduced significantly in recent years. York Music Hub therefore relies increasingly on the support of donors and sponsors to sustain and expand its work. Their aim is simple: to remove financial barriers and ensure that every young person who wishes to learn, perform and enjoy music has the opportunity to do so.
Through its fundraising activities during the year, Yorkshire Law Society is proud to support York Music Hub and the vital work it undertakes across our city.
