International Lawyers’ Conference in India
Bar and Bench reports that the Bar Council of India is hosting the International Lawyers’ Conference this month on the theme of Emerging Challenges in Justice Delivery System.
The event has been organised in collaboration with the Law Society of England and Wales, the Bar Council of England and Wales and the Commonwealth Lawyers Association. Law Society President Lubna Shuja is among the speakers.
AI in the legal profession
Legal Cheek reveals discourse on the role of AI in the legal profession, as a Court of Appeal judge spoke at a Law Society conference and admitted to using ChatGPT to write part of a judgment.
Inspirational visit
The Oldham Times and Oldham Evening Chronicle cover Law Society President Lubna Shuja visiting Oldham Sixth Form College to speak to students.
One student, Amaima Naveed, who is studying A-level Law, said: “Lubna is an inspirational, dedicated Asian woman providing footsteps for young women to enter into the law and breaking the stereotypes that a woman is less capable than a man.”
