Prosecution fees disparity
The Gazette and Law360 (£) report the Crown Prosecution Service has confirmed barristers will see fee increases for prosecution work for hearings in existing and new cases from 2 May.
Law Society President Lubna Shuja said: “If the Treasury can find the money to give defence and prosecution barristers the recommended 15% rates rise then it should be able to do the same for solicitors whose situation was regarded as more ‘parlous’ by Lord Bellamy.”
