Professional indemnity insurance costs
Insurance Times reports on growing demands that insurers reform their approach to solicitors’ professional indemnity (PII) insurance.
Law Society President Lubna Shuja said: “The high cost of PI insurance is an ongoing concern for our members.
“It is especially unwelcome given the effect of inflation on the costs of other parts of their business and small firms working in high-risk areas have been particularly badly affected.
“We understand that the insurance industry is also facing pressures at this time, but making small changes could be mutually beneficial.”
Compulsory purchase laws
The Law Society is mentioned in a Local Government Lawyer report on the Law Commission announcing it will launch a review of the legislation governing compulsory purchase.
