Lawyers’ role in climate change
Over 170 lawyers have signed an open letter urging their colleagues to stop supporting clients that contribute to the climate crisis, report Irish Legal News.
Jonathan Goldsmith, chair of our policy and regulatory affairs committee, is cited in the article saying: “The drafters of the letter are right to point out that the consequences risk the rule of law itself, which is what we all serve.”
Our climate change resolution is cited in the letter. The resolution outlines the role solicitors can play in addressing the climate crisis.
