Strategic Lawsuits Against Public Participation
Law Society of England and Wales president I. Stephanie Boyce is quoted in a Times (£) editorial on the relationship between English law firms and Russian clients.
"It's the job of solicitors to represent their clients, whoever they may be, so that the courts act fairly," she said.
Russia's invasion of Ukraine

Ukraine: Surrogacy and war
Naomi Angell, a member of our children's law subcommittee, wrote in the Gazette about the impact the war in Ukraine can have on international surrogacy.
"In Ukraine the country's government and court structures, along with surrogacy agencies, will have closed, as have the British diplomatic posts.
"Consequently, it is impossible to obtain British passports or travel documents for the babies, leaving them stateless. Babies and their surrogate mothers will have taken flight to places of safety and will likely be out of contact with their agency and the intended parents," she said.
