Scottish Legal News and Irish Legal News report that Richard Hermer KC has been appointed as Attorney General.
Law Society president Nick Emmerson said: “The new attorney general has extensive international and domestic legal experience and has been involved in the legal task force addressing international crimes committed by Russia in Ukraine.
“This substantial experience will be exceptionally valuable for the role of attorney general.

TA6 conveyancing form
Property Industry Eye and Today’s Conveyancer report that a customer from Hunters, which is part of The Property Franchise Group (TPFG), has completed the first Law Society licensed Digital TA6 form.

Special General Meeting
Estate Agent Today reveals the set date for the Law Society’s Special General Meeting (SGM) over the updated TA6 conveyancing form. The SGM will take place on Tuesday 23 July.
Cyber insurance
Yahoo Finance and three more media outlets report that insurance broking and risk management services provider Gallagher has teamed up with the Law Society of England and Wales to offer a cyber insurance solution. Under the alliance, Gallagher will provide the association’s members with cyber cover crafted for the legal sector.
Research by the Law Society highlights that more than 70% of companies currently do not have insurance coverage, thereby exposing themselves to substantial financial, operational and reputational risks.
