The Yorkshire Law Society-a personal tribute

img0135Low Res

Tony Lawton, who this year celebrated the 50th anniversary of his membership of the Society, has now published his account of our activities since the year when we first entered the world

in 1786.

This is neither a 'dry bones' nor purely academic account of 'what the Committee did next' but

a living history that puts our story in its legal, political and social context, albeit through the author's eyes.

Indeed, Tony has somewhat facetiously suggested that instead of describing it as a

'Personal Tribute', its sub-title might well have been 'Not Without Prejudice'.
