Jenni was born in Worcestershire but has lived in Yorkshire for most of her life and is viewed by her Yorkshire friends as adopted if not native.

She attended York College for Girls in Petergate, York, which she greatly enjoyed, although sadly the school has now become part of the history of York.

Jenni then studied laws at University College London before taking her Solicitors' Part II Exams at the College of Law at Chester.

Jenni arrived as an Articled Clerk (that description is instantly ageing!) at Crombie Wilkinson and Robinson in February 1979.  She was articled to the late Antony Royle, then Senior Partner of the firm.  Antony, preferring a quiet life, ensured her first year of Articles was spent at the firm's Pocklington Office (now Wood Sherwood & Co) with Martin Wood.

Jenni became an Assistant Solicitor in 1981 and a partner in 1984 with Crombie Wilkinson and Robinson.

In 1985 CW&R took over a practice in Selby which Jenni was tasked to run.  1994 brought Jenni back to the York Office for a further 9 years before, in 2003, she took over the running of the Malton Office where she is happily established today.

Jenni has turned her hand to various work fields over the three decades at her legal career but her greatest pleasure is her Agricultural work built up over many years, which has brought many interesting matters to her desk, wonderful clients and professional associates.

Jenni has been a past Council Member and Secretary of the Yorkshire Law Society, succeeding to that role on the retirement of Roger Dixon.  She has served in the early years of the group as Chair of the Yorkshire Womens' Solicitors Group and is also a member of the Agricultural Law Association and National Farmers Union Professional group and panel.

Jenni has three very long suffering children; one intends to follow mother into the law but thinks it safer to practise in London at a sufficient distance away.  The other two think Law is the last thing they will do as the workings hours seem far too long!

In her spare time Jenni enjoys travelling, reading, gardening and good food and wine, but the last two not necessarily in that order!

Jenni is honoured to take on the role of presdient of the Yorkshire Law Society in the coming year and would like to highlight to the professionalism of our Society members in all they do in Yorkshire commerce and community.
