The Yorkshire Law Society is one the oldest local law societies but is firmly committed to meeting the ever changing needs of all practitioners within the Yorkshire region.

The site is also intended to provide others, in particular those who may need legal assistance, with a guide to the range of legal services available from member firms in the region.

This website is an important example of how the YLS is responding to its members' interests and will help to ensure the benefits of membership are as accessible as possible.

Assistance to Members

I am only too aware of the impact of the current recession upon many members and their firms and the pressure that this puts on individuals which increases daily.

I also know that there are resources available to assist including, among others, the Solicitors Benevolent Association and the Solicitors Assistance Scheme.  Specialist Solicitors and Accountants are happy to advise.

However, I still feel that there is enormous benefit in local information links to allow a sharing of the burden.

To this end, members named below have agreed that they would be happy to give of their time to be a confidential ear and sounding board to any fellow solicitor who might wish to take advantage.

Any approach will be treated in absolute confidence in the hope that a burden shared maybe a burden eased.
